The MP5 family is a weapon family of PDW's in Phantom Forces. Unlike the other three weapon families (SA80, G36, and AR-15), the MP5 family is entirely within the PDW class, meaning you can't have the same family in multiple classes. However, the family is notable for being good at close quarters, and meh at long range.

As you can see, the MP5 family is almost the same in terms of damage. However, when looking at hard stats, the MP5 is the winner for medium range combat, the MP5k is the winner for close quarters, but the MP5SD sadly doesn't kill fast enough to catch up with the other guns. However, the MP5SD has a suppressor from the getgo, and the lower RoF isn't all bad, for it helps with conserving ammunition.

Strategies Edit

For all MP5 variants, any 9mm pistol can share ammo, so if you want a pseudo ammo bag, choose a 9mm pistol, especially an M9, as it is not only a starting pistol, but also has the largest ammo reserve for the MP5 series, if you are intent on using any. As with all three guns, the iron sights are clear and there is no need for another optic. In general, the MP5 family has the style of being the gun of choice for long killstreaks, as it can pick up ammo from almost every gun ever.

The MP5k is supposed to be a CQC powerhouse, firing at 900 RPM. However, it falters at range, and won't benefit the user much if used at long range. The fire rate is high, so please do bring a pseudo ammo bag if you want more bullets.

The MP5 is the bread and butter of the family, performing the best at medium-long range combat. While 800 RPM is still fast, there is less need of a pseudo ammo bag like the M9. Be sure to use this gun in medium-close ranges, as it can beat assault rifles at those ranges, with few exceptions.

Lastly, the MP5SD is integrally suppressed, which can help a lot when it comes to storming objectives. The gimmick to this gun is that it retains the same damage as the MP5, but less fire rate to trade for the damage. Range is also lost as usual, and the user should proceed with caution with this gun, as it isn't the best gun in CQC, unless when sneaking on someone. The lower rate of fire can help a lot in the long run, and bringing a pseudo ammo bag will help with long killstreaks.
